It was on “Black Tuesday”, October 29, 1929, that about 16 million shares traded on Wall Street as the panic selling reached its crescendo, commencing the Great Depression. The resultant rise of mass unemployment is seen as a result of the crash, although the crash is by no means the sole event that contributed to the depression. The crash in the stock market was followed by a collapse of the banking system.
Our Father in heaven,
Your name is Jehovah-jireh, the Lord who provides. We thank You for the provision of Christ Jesus, Your only begotten Son. Through His Blood shed for us, we have been delivered from our sins. Through Him, we are a new creation.
Jesus said, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” Without You, we are all in a derelict place.
We lift up the banks of Mississippi, especially in the Delta. We speak blessings over the banks–spiritual blessings and financial blessings. We declare blessings over their capital and their assets. We pray that the banks of the Mississippi Delta will be a blessing to the citizens of the Delta, and the citizens will be a blessing to the banks.
We humbly ask for supernatural wisdom for the bankers in this Jubilee Year. You are their keeper! Show them the way You would have them go and keep them from all evil. Bless their going out and their coming in from this time forth. Amen.
