After seven years of devouring of the harvest by the Midianites, an angel visits Gideon, and Gideon makes an offering to the Lord. The stranglehold of the Midianites is subsequently broken.
Judges 6:18-19 (AMP) Gideon to the angel
Please do not depart from here until I come back to You, and bring my offering and place it before You.” And He said, “I will wait until you return.”
Then Gideon went and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour. The meat he put in a basket and the broth in a pot, and he brought the food to Him under the oak (terebinth) and presented it.
After 40 years of oppression by the Philistines, an angel visits Manoah and and his wife, and Manoah prepares a burnt offering to the Lord. Infertility is broken off of his family, and a deliverer is born.
Judges 13:15-16a (AMP)
Then Manoah said to the Angel of the Lord, “Please let us detain you and let us prepare a young goat for you [to eat].” 16 The Angel of the Lord said to Manoah, “Though you detain me, I will not eat your food, but if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.”
Cornelius, a Gentile, gave alms. An angel visits him with instructions, and the door to the redemption of the Gentiles is opened.
Acts 10:3-4 (AMP)
About the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.) of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had come to him and said, “Cornelius!” Cornelius was frightened and stared intently at him and said, “What is it, lord (sir)?” And the angel said to him, “Your prayers and gifts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God [an offering made in remembrance of His past blessings].
O Lord, stir the Christians in Mississippi to make offerings, to the glory of Your name. Breakthroughs, Lord! We need breakthroughs. Amen.
