State budget

From Mississippi Public Broadcasting:

Under a set of proposals passed by the Senate yesterday, many of the state’s agencies could see drastic cuts up to five percent next year. The Senate has also approved measures that would increase funding for public schools by roughly 40 million dollars, as well as increases in Medicaid and the state’s foster care system.

Republican Buck Clarke of Hollandale is the Senate Appropriations Chair, and Republican Herb Frierson of Poplarville the House Appropriations Chair.

Our Father in heaven,
You are El Shaddai, the All Sufficient One, and Jehovah-jireh, the Lord who provides. Holy is Your name.
We thank You for the many resources of the state of Mississippi. Make Your face shine upon our budget, we pray. Grant supernatural wisdom to Senator Clarke and Representative Frierson. If there are portions of the budget that displease You, then open their eyes to eliminate these offenses. We wish to please You, dear Lord. Amen.
