Eyes of understanding

Ephesians 1:18-21 (TLB)
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to him! I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come.

Our Father in heaven,

May Your extraordinary plans for the state of Mississippi continue to display the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ. May the state of Mississippi lift high the banner of love!

We lift up the leaders of Mississippi’s legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government and pray that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened. Help them to understand what is the hope of Your calling upon them and what is the greatness of Your power toward those who believe.

We call forth living light, blazing forth from the Son of Man–rays of Blood-covered light emanating from the hands of our Risen Lord! O Manifold Light reflecting Manifold Wisdom, like the gems of Aaron’s “breastpiece of decision”–colors of light separated by ruby, topaz, beryl, turquoise, sapphire, emerald, jacinth, agate, amethyst, chrysolite, onyx, and jasper–shine in the hearts of Mississippi leaders.

Guard them from settling for less than the fullness of Your identity for the state of Mississippi. Amen.
