Religious conscience bill

The state of Mississippi is being investigated by the Department of Justice and sued by the ACLU for its freedom of religious conscience bill.

Numbers 14:41-45 (ESV)
But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and defeated them and pursued them, even to Hormah.

O Father,
We are an unclean people living in an unclean culture. Have mercy!
Grant Your divine wisdom to the Gideon’s and Jehu’s in this battle over freedom of conscience–when to go forth and when to stay put; when to speak out and when to refrain from speaking.
If there are sins that must be confessed and repented of; if there are iniquitous structures that must be pulled down, grant them Your divine wisdom to discern this and Your courage to follow through.
We need Your timing and Your directions, Lord. We cannot do this on our own. Align our hearts and the hearts of our leaders in Mississippi with Yours, Lord! Do not let us go up unless You are among us!
We declare: The people of Mississippi will leave behind the idols they made to worship—even those made of silver and gold, the things they felt were so important—to the moles and the bats.
Isaiah 2:20
