Luke 1:9-13 (KJV)
According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard . . .
Acts 10:4 (KJV)
And when he [Cornelius] looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
We thank You, Father, for being attentive to the voices of Your children. Your ears are not deaf, and Your heart is full of steadfast love. How gracious You are to lean Your ear toward us! Amen.
