May the Lord watch between us

Ecclesiastes 3 (AMP)
There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven . . .
A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones;

Our Father in heaven,
Laban and his son-in-law Jacob gathered a mound of stones as a witness of the covenant between them. Laban called it Mizpah (watchtower), for Laban said, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent from one another.”
Forgive us for being a nation of covenant-breaking. We have forsaken many family relationships. Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
We pray for a restoration of family relationships in the United States, and especially in the Mississippi Delta. We pray for a renewed understanding of covenant. We pray for a renewed sense of honor, one with another. May we be a nation of honor.
May we build “watchtowers” of prayer in our families. Only with Your help, Lord, can our families be restored. Only with Your help can the prodigals be restored. Only with Your help. Amen.
