The American Revolution

General Washington’s greatest achievement in the Revolution was to change the basic strategy in the fall of 1776 to “protract the war” rather than risk everything in one battle. In the resulting series of battles, the American army led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold soundly defeated the British at the Battle of Saratoga, which proved to be the war’s key engagement, not so much for the impact on America as for the impression it made in Europe. The Battle of Saratoga attracted France as an ally.

Psalm 46:7-11 (AMP)
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.
He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.”
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold [our refuge, our high tower]. Selah.

Yes, Lord, You will be exalted in the earth.
You will be exalted in the United States of America.
You will be exalted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
You will be exalted in the Mississippi Delta. Amen.
