Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT)
This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
in an uninhabited salty land.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. O Lord, have mercy on our nation.

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.

Our Father in heaven,
Are there not yet many in the United States who have made their hope and confidence in You? Let their votes be like bright streams between the hills that grow into a great river, a river of living water. Let their votes bring life.
You are the fountain of living waters. From Your throne and the throne of the Lamb flows the pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal. May the citizens of our nation be rooted in living water. May the citizens of our nation be rooted in You. Amen.
