Tekoa–trumpet, that is confirmed
Tekoa was the birthplace of Amos, about three centuries before the rebuilding of the wall under Nehemiah. Amos spoke against an increased disparity between the very wealthy and the very poor. His major themes were social justice, God’s omnipotence, and divine judgment.
Two centuries later,Jeremiah, when warning of the impending fall of Jerusalem and destruction of Solomon’s temple, said, “Blow a trumpet in Tekoa.” (Jer 6:1)
Nehemiah 3:5 (VOICE) Rebuilding the wall
The men of Tekoa, who worked without the support of their nobles, worked from that same tower as far as Ophel’s wall.
Our Father in heaven,
We thank You for the godly poor in the United States of America, who steadily work to establish Your kingdom. They are sometimes crushed and overwhelmed, but they rely only on You, who raises the dead. You rescue them from mortal danger. You will rescue them again. They place their confidence in You, and You will continue to rescue them. We give You thanks and pray for their safety.
We pray that President Donald Trump, whose name means trumpet, will be a blessing to them. We humbly beseech You to reduce the unjust income disparities in the United States. Amen.
