From the Mississippi Department of Education: The state board of education has approved two more districts to be designated Districts of Innovation. Of the five Districts of Innovation, two are at the edge of the Mississippi Delta: Grenada on the east and Vicksburg-Warren on the south.
The Grenada School District’s “Walls to Windows Innovation Plan” will expand its pre-K program, establish blended learning opportunities for middle school students, open career pathways through career academies, establish an early college program with Holmes Community College and implement Project Lead the Way in grades K-12 in the areas of engineering, biomedical science and computer science.
From the Vicksburg-Warren School District:
The Academy of Innovation is a junior high STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) academy where students participate in project-based learning. It is an accelerated program of study for VWSD grades 7 and 8 students.
Proverbs 8:12 (AMP)
“I, [godly] wisdom, reside with prudence [good judgment, moral courage and astute common sense],
And I find knowledge and discretion.
Our Father in heaven,
We bless the Grenada School District’s “Walls to Windows Innovation Plan” and the Academy of Innovation in Vicksburg. May their leaders walk in godly wisdom. Infuse the programs with prudence, knowledge, and discretion. Amen.
