Atheist and “minister” of the “First Atheistic Church of True Science,” Michael Newdow is suing the U.S. Department of the Treasury to have the phrase “In God We Trust” removed from U.S. currency.
Judges 15:14-15 (NLT)
As Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his arms as if they were burnt strands of flax, and they fell from his wrists. Then he found the jawbone of a recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed 1,000 Philistines with it.
2 Samuel 23:11-12 (NLT)
Next in rank was Shammah son of Agee from Harar. One time the Philistines gathered at Lehi and attacked the Israelites in a field full of lentils. The Israelite army fled, but Shammah held his ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.
Our Father in heaven,
Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit was our nation founded. Your name is Jehovah-jireh, the God who provides, and by Your gracious hand, You have blessed the United States with much bounty. In You we indeed trust.
Your Son Jesus has triumphed over the empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking. By His cross, He has disarmed and vanquished the spiritual powers and authorities of this world.
We stand in the name of Jesus and cry out, Let the administration officials that fight Michael Newdow’s lawsuit be like Samson and Shammah battling the Philistines at Lehi. Bring a great victory, O Lord. Bring a great victory. Amen.
