Tyre and Sidon

1 Chronicles 22:4 (NLT) Gentiles help build the first Temple
He also provided innumerable cedar logs, for the men of Tyre and Sidon had brought vast amounts of cedar to David.

Ezra 3:7 (NLT) Gentiles help build the second Temple
Then the people hired masons and carpenters and bought cedar logs from the people of Tyre and Sidon, paying them with food, wine, and olive oil. The logs were brought down from the Lebanon mountains and floated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Joppa, for King Cyrus had given permission for this.

Matthew 15:21-28 (NLT) The faith of a Gentile woman foreshadows a spiritual Temple
Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” . . .

Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”

She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.”

“Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

Have mercy on us Gentiles in the state of Mississippi, O Lord, Son of David! For we are beleaguered by many demons. Have mercy on our sons and daughters! We pray for Your kingdom to come, and Your will to be done in Mississippi as it is in heaven. We yearn to be Your very own possession, a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Amen.
