Belzoni after-hours clinic

Belzoni has no hospital.

From UMMC:

The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s new Belzoni after-hours care clinic is getting a funding boost of almost $1 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Medical Center’s Moving Our Delta’s Health Forward initiative will receive a grant of up to $999,077 from the Agriculture Department’s 2016 Delta Health Care Services Grant Program. It will primarily fund capital expenses at the clinic, including classroom space for educational programs and a fitness room for use by local residents.

Jude 25a (NLT)
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We thank You, Father, for blessing Belzoni, the heart of the Delta. We pray not only for healthy bodies in Belzoni, but also for healthy hearts and souls. Amen.

Leland cleanup day

From The Delta Democrat-Times: Today is the annual cleanup day in Leland.

Psalm 51:10-15 (ESV)
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will return to you.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,
O God of my salvation,
and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.

O Father,
We pray for clean hearts as well as a clean community landscape in Leland! Amen.

2 Corinthians 13:11 (YLT)
Henceforth, brethren, rejoice; be made perfect, be comforted, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of the love and peace shall be with you.

Our Father in heaven,
We claim this scripture over all of the speakers, organizers, and intercessors for these events. Amen.

Law enforcement officials

From The Clarion Ledger: A man was killed and a female suspect and a deputy were wounded during an exchange of gunfire in Yalobusha County Friday.
From The Yazoo Herald: A Yazoo City man with a long history of trouble with the law was shot by officers last Saturday after allegedly raising a gun toward them.

Romans 13:1-4 (ESV)
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.

Our Father in heaven,
We pray that in the Mississippi Delta there will be a spirit of respect for law enforcement officials. No weapon used against them shall succeed, and every tongue that rises against the law enforcement officials in judgment shall be refuted. We bless them in their going out and their coming in. The Lord keep them from all evil and guard their lives. Amen.
Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 121:7-8

Praise

Last night, thunder storms covered much of the Delta. I’ve never seen such a display of lightning. May it be a harbinger of justice to his people and compassion on his servants.

Psalm 135:5-14 (NLT)
I know the greatness of the Lord—
that our Lord is greater than any other god.
The Lord does whatever pleases him
throughout all heaven and earth,
and on the seas and in their depths.
He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth.
He sends the lightning with the rain
and releases the wind from his storehouses. . . .
Your name, O Lord, endures forever;
your fame, O Lord, is known to every generation.
For the Lord will give justice to his people
and have compassion on his servants.

Our Father in heaven,
We thank You for the promises of Your Holy Scripture and declare them to be true in the Mississippi Delta. Amen.

2:22–Terrors

Lamentations 2:22 (NLT)
“You have invited terrors from all around,
as though you were calling them to a day of feasting.
In the day of the Lord’s anger,
no one has escaped or survived.
The enemy has killed all the children
whom I carried and raised.”

O Father,
What doors of terror have we opened by legalizing abortion in our nation? We are in times of trouble. Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy.
You are our only hope. You are our salvation. Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Help us to end this scourge in the state of Mississippi. Amen.
Psalm 124:8

2:22–Guilt

Jeremiah 2:22 (NLT)
No amount of soap or lye can make you clean.
I still see the stain of your guilt.
I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

We in the state of Mississippi and in the United States of America are a sinful people. Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy.
