HB 1523

From Fox News:

Supporters of gay marriage in Mississippi are planning to file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court in a last-ditch bid to stop a sweeping religious freedom law from taking effect next week.
House Bill 1523, also known as the Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act, was passed and signed into law last year. Its implementation was delayed after court challenges, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit has refused to keep delaying the law.

Our Father in heaven,
You have created a world of beauty and order. You have given Your people Your holy law by which to live. We thank You for the biblical principles that have been embedded in our system of jurisprudence.
You have raised up particular men and women to be judges of Your people. We bless the U.S. Supreme Court–Ruth, Anthony, John, Clarence, Elena, Samuel, Stephen, Sonia, and Neil. We thank You for their willingness to serve our nation in this critical role.
We ask now that You will grant unto them all of the gifts they will need to fulfill their duty regarding House Bill 1523. We ask that You give them the fidelity to the law possessed by Moses, the wisdom of Solomon, the courage of Deborah and Gideon, the righteousness of Samuel, and the heart of David. We ask that You protect them and their families from all harm. We pray that all of their judgments will be honest and true. We ask in the name of Jesus, our Advocate. Amen.

Ezekiel 22:30 (AMP)
I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for [the sake of] the land, that I would not destroy it, but I found no one [not even one].

Amos 7:7-8 (AMP)
Thus He showed me [a vision], and behold, the Lord was standing by a vertical wall with a plumb line in His hand [to determine if the wall was straight or if it needed to be destroyed]. The Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,

“Behold, I am setting a plumb line [as a standard]
Among My people Israel [showing the defectiveness of the nation, requiring judgment].
I shall not spare them any longer. [The door of mercy is shut.] . . . ”

Dear Father,
For the sake of the Mississippi Delta, we ask You to stir the intercessors. Do not shut the door of mercy, we plea. Forgive us our sins, and forgive the sins of our forefathers. Amen.

Pray for all people

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (ESV)
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Dear Father,
You know our needs far better than we. We humbly ask for blessings upon all people in the Mississippi Delta, and for those in high positions over the Delta. Amen.

A prayer for the king

Psalm 72:1-7 (NLT)
1 Give your love of justice to the king, O God,
and righteousness to the king’s son.
2 Help him judge your people in the right way;
let the poor always be treated fairly.
3 May the mountains yield prosperity for all,
and may the hills be fruitful.
4 Help him to defend the poor,
to rescue the children of the needy,
and to crush their oppressors.
5 May they fear you as long as the sun shines,
as long as the moon remains in the sky.
Yes, forever!
6 May the king’s rule be refreshing like spring rain on freshly cut grass,
like the showers that water the earth.
7 May all the godly flourish during his reign.
May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.

Our Father in heaven,
May it be for President Donald J. Trump, Governor Phil Bryant, and Mayor _____. Amen.

Rosedale port

The port at Rosedale is a total intermodal facility, offering unrivaled access to both the lower Mississippi River and the Arkansas River navigation systems.

2 Corinthians 2:12 (MSG)
When I arrived in Troas to proclaim the Message of the Messiah, I found the place wide open: God had opened the door; all I had to do was walk through it.

O Father,
Open the portal for the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ wide in Rosedale. Unrivaled access of the gospel in the Arkansas River valley and the lower Mississippi River valley. Revival, Lord. Revival! Amen.

Lake Bolivar

Lake Bolivar is an ancient remnant of the Mississippi River created centuries ago by a natural cutoff at Bolivar Bend. It is a shallow lake averaging about 5 feet deep. In the past, Lake Bolivar has suffered from low water in late summer. As recent as ten years ago, it was considered to be a “dead lake”. Lake Bolivar has recently become an extremely productive large mouth bass fishery.

1 Corinthians 15:46 (ESV)
But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual.

Our Father in heaven,
We thank You for the “resurrection” of Lake Bolivar, and the abundance of its fish. We loose Your holy angels over Lake Bolivar, that there will be a great harvest of people for the kingdom of God.
We declare that Bolivar County will not be a valley of dry bones! Come, Holy Spirit, to Bolivar County. Amen.

Rosedale church

Song of Solomon 2:1-2 (ESV)
I am a rose of Sharon,
a lily of the valleys.

As a lily among brambles,
so is my love among the young women.

Our Father in heaven,
We pray for the church in Rosedale that she will be clothed in the righteous deeds of the saints, ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
